The Arctic Circle Race organisers bid you welcome to
eight fantastic days in the wilds of Greenland, where the Arctic Circle Race is being
arranged for the sixth year running. We offer an experience to all participants who wish
to test themselves against the extreme challenges of Nature.
The classic Arctic Circle Race Ski Route extends over a distance of 160 km across a
magnificent arctic landscape, 65 km north of the Polar Circle. The recent addition to the
Arctic Circle Race program - "The ½ ACR" - is an event similar to the classic
ACR, but only extends over a distance of 80 km. If you choose to take part in Arctic
Circle Race 2003, it is essential that you are in good physical condition, with a stable
mentality and a desire for adventure. |

Vor einigen Jahren in Island wurde die Idee geboren,
einen Sommerurlaub in Grönland zu verbringen. Am Jökulsarlon, einem Eisbergsee, haben
wir eine nette Dänin kennen gelernt, die zu der Zeit in Grönland lebte und uns von den
schönen weißen Eisbergen erzählte. Kurz vor der Abreise aus Island haben wir in
Reykjavik einen Reiseprospekt von Greenland Tourism mitgenommen und nach dem
Durchblättern des Prospektes stand fest, wir müssen unbedingt nach Grönland!
Bis zur Realisierung des Traumes sind dann noch 3 Jahre ins Land gegangen, aber es hat
sich gelohnt. |
